The Mercies are New Every Morning mug holds 13oz. of your favorite hot drink. It features extra-thick walls and a glossy finish, and Angel's design contrasted in black. I pray that this mug is a reminder of what He has promised: His love never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, and no matter what the night held, that mercy is new every morning.
So quickly, when asked if he is Jesus' disciple, Peter said “I am not… I am not… I am not." And the rooster crowed. I grew up with chickens, and every morning at the crack of dawn, our rooster announced the arrival of the new day. I was reminded of another passage as I read this account again:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
The rooster crowed and Peter met Jesus' eye across the courtyard. And yet, as the light of dawn spread, the rooster's crow simultaneously marked Peter's shame met with the mercies of Christ that are promised new every morning. When we read this text, we can be encouraged.
When we're in the dark, covered in shame, feeling the weight of sin as we deny Christ to choose it… the rooster's crow is not condemning, but a mark of the morning that has come. Jesus meets us with the most gracious gaze, and reminds us what He has promised: His love never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, and no matter what the night held, that mercy is new every morning.
