Blemished mugs are bruised versions of their counterparts. Each mug has either an imperfection in the glaze, or a light alteration/smudge to the design. But still retain full use-ability as a reminder of the Lord’s sovereignty as you sip your morning coffee and tea!
The Thy Will Be Done mug holds 13oz. of your favorite hot drink in an earth toned sage color with a natural clay bottom, and Angel's design contrasted in white. This mug is designed to remind us to practice what the Lord himself prays as He teaches us children how to approach a Holy God: "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
If I’m honest, my prayer life looks a lot more like Mark 10 than Luke 22. More like when James and John come to Jesus and say, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” Less like Jesus, who goes to the Father and says “Not my will, but thine be done.”
There are a lot of things I prayed earnestly for and against in years past, that today I praise the Lord for not following my lead on. He is a good Father, who knows exactly what His children need. He knows all about our perceived needs, the ones that we’ve prioritized, and He knows the deepest needs of our hearts and souls. I’ve learned (well, still learning) that the sooner I surrender myself, believing that the Lord is faithful and good and worthy of my trust, the sooner I can cease striving after that which I’ve never been in control of all along. It was Elisabeth Elliot who said, “to pray ‘thy will be done,’ I must be willing, if the answer requires it, that my will be undone.” I hope this mug helps you practice that with me. He’s promised to meet our needs exactly as they were made to be met. After all, He's the one who made them.
